My baby is trying to walk!

I am so excited! In the last two weeks, my baby has started trying to walk. Her legs are still weak so she is quite clumsy. We have an appointment in about three weeks to take her back for x-rays. I hope this time we will get good news and maybe she will only have to use the brace to sleep in.

We took her to Duke for a second opinion in January and the doctor there said she would only make her wear it at night-so she stays out of the brace a little more these days. I will give you an update as soon as we go back to the doctor.

We are all very excited about the warm weather and are looking forward to enjoying some outside time. I hope all you do as well. Take care.

  1. Ah, Lynn! You sound like a fantastic grandmother. I am sure your granddaughter will greatly benefit from your involvement and support.

  2. Your granddaughter is beautiful. I agree that she will benefit greatly from the family support. I am currently working in a preschool that includes children with disabilities. Those with supportive families, make so much more progress.

  3. Your granddaughter is beautiful! It is great to hear that she is progressing. Like the others have stated, support and involvement will make the world of difference in her life. I am expecting a baby in June and have been getting ultrasounds but you never know what complications can arise after the baby is born. I hope I am fortunate enough to have a nurse like your granddaughter did that was so intuitive.

  4. She is so cute and sitting surrounded by daisies is a great picture. It was good to hear that she is doing so good with her walking. It's really amazing what we can do now for our little ones.
